My sister is an aspiring Pastry Chef and is currently attending school (finishing, actually) for her certification and had a "final exam" being her last school cake. She contacted me for advice as she was going to sculpt the cake topper for her cake which was very unheard of as most people just buy their cake toppers in previous classes. She messaged me and showed me some pictures of her progress and she ended up asking me to create them for her. I was excited and naturally said "Yes !". For this piece, keep in mind that's it's nowhere near the quality I tend to create my sculptures in and don't have nearly as much detail as I like to add. That's solely due to the fact that I had literally one week to have this ready.
Everything on this piece is made of clay. I normally have actual doll hair and I separately hand-make the eyes for realism but I didn't have the luxury of time. So, there are clearly things I learned from this piece, mistakes were made and "repaired" as much as I could / knew how, but overall I would have to say it came out decent. I would like to thank my sister Yisell for unknowingly challenging me as an artists as we in the OOAK world know we're not used to working with deadlines. I learned a lot from this "express" piece .... Thank you, Yisell. I'm ore than excited it looked great on your final cake :-D
